GNU/Hurd is so awful

Here are some comments I overheard on the bus and around town the other day. It seems everone is talking about HURD, and the things they have to say are not good - eg:

"I used HURD and it crashed. HURD sucks"

"I tried HURD and it didn't even have a driver for my Centrino wireless card or my graphics tablet or my washing machine. What a load of rubbish"

"HURD smells of poo"

"I booted it up and five minutes later my pet cat dropped dead. With serious flaws like that, HURD will never be a contender"

"I never even heard of the HURD and yet I still detest it with all my heart and soul"

Strong words indeed. Better stick to Windows, I think!

Try GNU/Linux

The official Hurd installation guide says:
"Sit back and watch the messages. This is actually more important than most people believe: there is a bug in GNU Mach whereby hitting a key during the boot process causes the kernel to panic."

HURD is just so broken they don't even try to fix it - they conserve and document the bugs.

yeah, or sysadmin told the same: after running HURD for some years on our mail server he just realized, they won't fix their buggy code.

I'm not that sysadmin should be employed, and as far as all the other comments, I don't think anyone in their right mind uses something that is strictly in development in a production situation.

Anyone who does that is either confused or not very smart.

GNU/Hurd is usuable, but is bleeding edge and continually being developed and design is continually being discussed.

If you are an inept ninkumpoop who loses their cool as soon as they don't understand something, then you're not ready to use GNU/Hurd and GNU/Hurd isn't ready for you.

And never will be.

Real Programmers use HURD, huh?
