At the end of February 2006, the Open Graphics Project team released schematics for their development board, OGD1. An article on KernelTrap was written about this, explaining the release under GPL and the nature of PCB schematics (logical connections between chips) and artwork (physical component placement and circuit trace routing). Just last Friday (2006-05-26), we announced the first draft of the artwork. For the most indepth information, check out the OGD1 page on the OGP Wiki, which links to PDFs for each of the routing layers and a way-cool composite image of all of the layers.

good to see some progress

Nice to see the open graphics project is chugging along. I hope they use a shared wafer (such as mosis) to produce a few dozen of their chips for testing/tweaking before they spend a few million to make large quantities of these chips. On the other hand, I bet it would be much easier to get financial support if they can demonstrate a working version of their chip.
