Well, everything started with single-user batch processing system. In this system, a batch of jobs are queued to be processed by the system one at a time. The system itself is usually operated by one operator. An owner of a job has to wait for the result to be produced by the system.
I believe every new student studying Computer Science or Information Technology will be introduced to the sub-systems of computers, which are Input Unit, Output Unit, Arithmetic and Logic Unit, Central Processing Unit, Storage Unit (Primary Storage Unit/Main Memory and Secondary Storage Unit). I always thought that the most amazing part of a computer was its processor (i.e., ALU and CPU).
I have my e-mail forwarding set up in FSF's mail server to my account in Yahoo!'s mail server.
I tune into several mailing lists, and I noticed that frequently the e-mails came out-of-order if not delivered at all.
Just yesterday my friend and I were wondering why his Linux kernel module crashed the kernel in QEMU everytime the module was removed with rmmod; it caused the kernel to issue the BUG message on the screen before crashing. The kernel module itself had just been transfered from his host GNU/Linux operating system via scp.
This post is in russian aimed for my close communication cycle. But i want to share it in my search for collegues in general and on consciousness in particular.
I think yesterday or the day before marked my six year anniversary of being out of the US Navy. I have now been out of that unfortunate organization for as long as I was in it.
Good riddance. Navy sucks!
Well, I missed the month mark, but I guess I'll do the news thing.
It was an exciting news weekend. Synopsis, I'm single again, had to go to a funeral (not the same person), and an ex-girlfriend got married (again, not the same person). I'm not going to go into detail on any of that.
Two months and nary an update....no apologies, I've been busy. Two bands, an engaging job, two cats, and a girlfriend. It's been a busy couple of months. Here's some of what I've been doing:

And its also that time of the year when you resolve to keep your blog posts flowing in the year to come :-)
Quite a happening year for me! Nonetheless, hoping to find some more time for writing in here in the coming year!
Oh and btw,
A Happy New Year to all of you!!!

It's been /quite/ some time since I posted my first ever blog entry. I feel I should say something publicly at least once a year, to keep a certain perspective about life, and keep me moving forward.
So, I'll say this: I feel great! Yes, it's shamelessly stolen from Pat Croce, but it's true.
It's probably obvious to many admins out there, but today I learned first hand. If you've got an SFTP / SCP sessions that starts out quick and slows down radically after a short time, you've probably got a duplex mismatch between your server and your network switch.
